Thanks again to Jens for capturing this holy grail Marantz, the PMS-7000. We don’t have measurements on this, but you can judge the massive size after seeing the cassette well door. It’s as if they welded several standard home audio components together, attached the speakers and screwed on a handle.

Here’s Munk’s “Disco-Robo,” a most unusual portable system designed by Pioneer, also known as the Multimedia Machine. We’re not sure what to make of it…is it a robot that plays music or a boombox with a brain? We’re not sure, but this would most certainly fall into the holy grail genre of systems. Robot collectors and boombox enthusiasts alike are drooling over this one. Says Mark, “takes 12 D cells, 2 x mic inputs, echo filter, tuner, tapedeck, all able to be mixed & multiple units can be chained together via outputs….this thing rocks!”

Johannes from Braunschweig, Germany scored a very nice Siemens at a local fleamarket. This is the Club 794, a seemingly well-made system with four band radio, cassette control protective bracket and stereo LED meters. Looks like it’s in nice shape, Johannes, a very good deal!
